I took her to the oncology vet today. We were going to work under the assumption that the chylothorax was due to lymphoma since that was the only chance we had to fight it.
They drained some more fluid out of her chest, but she was still having heavy breathing. There was air getting into the area around her lungs. I stayed there all day, they kept draining fluid out of her chest and air out of her lungs but both kept coming back. At the end of the day, I made the decision to let her go rather than keep fighting a loosing battle. I tried hard. She tried hard. We just couldn't do it.
Exactly 1 month and 1 day since I lost Korbel, my heart hurts.

I tried to upload a pic of her, but keep getting an error.

Oh Jennifer,
This is so hard...even for me to read what to speak of you to live thru.
I know you will hurt...and I know you know that you did the most generous and loving thing for Calypso...but that doesn't stop the heart from breaking does it?
I am just so deeply sorry.
Fly free Calypso, visit your mama in her dreams and let her know you are ok sweet kitty.

Such a pretty girl.....loved seeing her picture. Sent you another PM because I didn't know if you had posted.
You will definitely have some "moments" so let those tears fall...wherever and whenever.
 
I am soo sorry to hear about your loss. Calypso is now at peace and probably playing with Korbel. wings_cat wings_cat

Jennifer, I'm so incredibly sorry. To lose Calypso so soon after Korbel just doesn't seem fair. I was watching for an update and hoping so much that you'd have the ability to manage this. My thoughts are with you. Fly free, Calypso.
 
So sorry for your loss. Fly free Calypso, free from her pain. You'll be with her again someday and until then you carry her with you in mind and spirit. If you need to cry.....cry!! wings_cat

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a kitty is so hard. I know you did all you could for her, and the best thing you could was to let her go. That's real love. I'm sure she knew how much you loved her.

I'm so sorry that Calypso had to leave you but you gave her the final gift of love we mere mortals have to give our fur-kids.

We are so sorry for your loss Jennifer. You gave Calypso the last and greatest gift of all by setting her free and taking her pain on yourself. We had to set our dear Robyn (GA) free yesterday. She was suffering from the same symptoms as your Calypso. We understand your sadness and share in your loss.

Perhaps Robyn (GA) and Calypso travelled together on their way to the Rainbow Bridge. I'm sure they have made friends and are both enjoying the sunshine at the Rainbow Bridge, their health fully restored.

Please know that we are thinking of you.

Oh geeze, I'm so sorry...I was hoping and praying things could work out for your baby. This is just not fair not so soon. My deepest condolences.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Calypso. Two cats crossing the Rainbow Bridge in a month has to have devastated you.

(((Jennifer))) May you find solace in the memories of these two beautiful cats you cared for. Know that they are flying free, whole and healthy and watching over you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Sending many many cyber hugs. Its so hard as it is, and to lose both your babies so close together must be horrible. Calypso is flying free now, whole and healthy over the Rainbow Bridge. I am sure Calypso and Korbel are flying together.

I'm so sorry, Jennifer.... To lose them both within such a short time is just devastating. Your heart just doesn't have enough time to heal.....

I am so so sorry... I know how much it hurts to lose one that way, but you did the right thing by setting her free to see Korbel again. To lose two so quickly is a pain too hard to bear- I wish you strength to cope with the loss, and the courage to love again.
 
So very sorry to hear your news, Jennifer. I know how hard it is to loss Calpso and how much you will miss her. My heart goes out to you. They fight so hard and so long to stay with us. She left you as she lived surrounded by your love. Thinking of you.

I am sorry to hear this, but know that you did all you could for that cat and did the right thing under the conditions. You alleviated her suffering, at your own heart's expense.

I am sure you will always miss her but think of her with happy memories.
 
(Jennifer) we've been traveling and I've not been over here on health for awhile - so am just seeing this post. I'm so sorry that Calypso had to leave you - that is a gorgeous picture of a gorgeous girl - now she is with Korbel again and you are left with the sadness and hurt.

My heart goes out to you - hoping the knowledge that they are both together, young and pain-free, will give you some consolation in your grief. Sending many hugs to you.
