Hi everyone,
It is with great sadness that I share the news that Bogey got really sick Monday night, developed ketones again, and was put down Tuesday afternoon. Everything was going so well... we thought. I couldn't bear to put him through the emergency procedures again. It had only been two months or so since the last episode, and that was so rough on him. And then with the acromegly dx and the difficulties starting to develop as a result of that, we decided it was the best thing for him.
I will miss him waiting to greet me every time I come home. He used to be waiting on the chair arm right at the front door the moment I walked in. I don't know how he knew it was me, but he always did. Bailey, his little "sister" adored him as well.
You can see she always had to be right next to him. On the positive side, I'm lucky to have had the pleasure of his company for the time I did. And, I'm glad his suffering is over.
I want to thank everyone who was so supportive during our short time here. You're advice helped me to be able to make the last few months of his life so much better. I am eternally grateful for that. Please keep up the good work... it's so important.
