Ok friends, Riley's numbers this A.M. were 210 preshot so I gave him only 1 unit. I changed it on my ss. I had to go through yahoo to do so because the one I saved on my computer was a bunch of mumbo jumbo and did not resemble a ss? I will try that agian later. Anyways Sue, your advice is working. Riley is back to himself again with a smaller dose. Although he seems constipated now. I'm sure it's from the antibiotics he's taking for urinary tract infection and not eating alot. He ate the Fancy Feast this morning along with the rest of my cats. I'm pleased with the number from lastnight. It was 161 at midpoint after 1 unit. Things may be looking up.

Wow! Looks like that lower dose is surely doing a good job. Is anyone home to get a mid cycle today? Not a big deal if they're not...I know I could only get them on weekends. I'm a data freak, though, so I love to get as many numbers as possible!

The SS shows up correctly in your signature. I checked it just now and it's updated through this AM numbers. I think it'll be interesting the next couple of days with you sticking to some lower doses to see if that helps the number all around.

I'm excited for you!

Riley's numbers are starting to look much better with less spread between the nadir (lowest number) and the preshot. Fingers crossed that Riley continues to show better numbers. You could try giving a 1/2 teaspoon of pure pumpkin...not the pie mix... to help with the constipation. Also a bit of forti-flora can help keep the gut bacteria on the proper balance. Antibiotics tend to disrupt the proper gut balance of good bacteria. Good luck!! :)

Hurray! Good news.

Not sure what is going on with the spreadsheet. As Rachel says it looks fine for us. Maybe tonight, add to our private conversation and let me know what is going on. (Just go to the top of the page, click on your name and pick our private conversation)

Riley also has inflammatory bowel disease and this is concerning me as well. I was giving him probiotics up until he became diabetic and I stopped because I thought it had sugar in it. Well I tasted it and it doesn't taste sweet so lastnight I started giving it to him again. I think I have pumpkin at home. do I give it to him in a dropper or syringe? I don't think he will eat it on his own. I'm also concerned with the second antibiotic he gets 2 days a week for the IBD. It definatley has sugar in it but my vet said it was okay to give him???? I have to give it to him tonight. Its Azrithromycin 1 ml. The other one he gets dailey for urinary tract infection no sugar in that one that I know of.

Most people mix the pumpkin in their food. (It only takes a teaspoonful). And we really like FortiFlora for a probiotic - again, just mix it in the food.

Not sure about your antibiotics. Maybe start a thread on Health and list the antibiotics and steroid and see if anyone has used sugar free alternatives. (There will be more eyes there for a meds question)

I know Rileys feels much better because he started a little fight with my maine coon this morning and that's how I know he's back to himself. lol
