Riley 150 gave 1 drop

Riley's AMPS was 150 today and I really don't like the numbers being so high so I gave Riley only 1 drop. I counted 4 drops out of .5 and let 3 out and gave him the last one.(The vet wanted me to give him .5!!!) NO WAY!

My husband will be home to monitor.

I'm still a little concerned with his bowel movements they are hard and very little of it (he's not eating much) so I gave him some dry food lastnight because it seems like the pumpkin isn't working so well and the vet said the dry food has fiber that may help move it along. I'm sure that's why his B.G. was higher today. UGH.

Can canned food constipate? If that's the case then it may be the answer for IBD with his diarrhea when this shot wears off on Monday. He no longer is on antibiotics for UTI so maybe now we will see a change in his stools.

I'm still giving him pumpkin and probiotics because that is great for IBD. I will ask vet about Miralax

Antibiotics can cause constipation for sure. It's probably not the canned food and unless the dry food is low carb, Evo or Young Again, I wouldn't give it as it'll definitely bump the numbers up. But my vet said not to freak out over one or two higher numbers. He said for an older cat 160-180 is not dangerous to the kitty.

I'd definitely ask about the Miralax. It's something you can use daily in small amounts and hopefully keep him regular.

Dry food ahould not cause constipation. In most cats, it's the opposite. I agree that the dry will most likely raise the numbers.
