Hi All,
My boy Joust has been OTJ as you guys say for THREE PLUS YEARS ()--(8wks on 4units 2x day of prozinc, all wet food diet, spontaneous remission). However yesterday he started feeling punky in the evening and wouldnt eat, so I pulled a BG. 230. Vets closed, so my vet tech friend said test q2hr and if he's lower, offer a small meal.
He went from 230 (7pm) to 160 (9pm) to 74 (11pm and starving)
This morning he was 119 before breakfast, 220 15min after eating, and 99 two hours later.

He also seems to be feeling back to normal. No excessive drinking either.

Who has ideas? Is he coming out of remission? My anxiety is stupid right now ...

Hello my name is Jeanne. I have been wondering if Joust got a steroid shot at his last vet visit. (Please excuse if this has already been addressed) If so the steroid could be wearing off by now? PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG THINKING EVERYONE!

OK Sorry. Also sorry I cannot give dosing advice. I cannot see what type of Insulin he is using but you can scroll through the different foeums to find which you use. Then post this same question there.

He's not on any insulin, he's been in remission for three-plus years. Sorry, I thought that was clear in my post

OOPS my bad! Its early here. I must have you confused with another poster.:(

Well if hes not had steroids or insulin, either something else is going on (numbers you posted arent too high) or he could be slipping back. I know pain can raise bg levels or maybe he got into some other food??? I'm no expert. So I'm sure others can guide you better.
