Remembering Rusty. One-year anniversary

Hi Everyone,
It was a year ago today that Rusty headed to the Bridge to join so many of his old pals and to take up his position in the Bridge Kitchen. It must have been a joyous welcome at the Bridge, but here we consoled each other in our grief. Since that day Rusty has sent us many signs of his love, the most recent last week at Camp, when another perfectly round little pine cone appeared perfectly centered at the beginning of the path to the cabin. Like the pine cone he sent us last summer, this one is just the size of his favorite bell balls. How wonderful!

In appreciation of Rusty and the 8 years of his long life that he shared with us, I would like to post this link to the Remembering Rusty slide show I made last fall: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Outq2v26tyCC-ZnjGvdNstrmnctHcRhQ/view?usp=sharing

We love you, Mr. Cat--our fine big cat, our excellent Chef, our LagoonMeister. Always in our hearts.

Ella & Edward

Thought it was about that time. I remember the pine cone gift last year.:bighug::bighug:

I still swoon over that tail, jealous that Neko sees it all the time now. She also ate from that same dish. We remember the love, that keeps us strong.

Rusty was a big beautiful kitteh. He has some great regal poses in many of those pictures. I went through the slideshow again today. He was lucky to have such a great home living with you. He looks so happy in all of the pictures.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

For a NFC, Gizmo really doesn't climb. He has no interest in the trees in the courtyard (and it's a good thing because I don't want him on the roof!).
Here's a pic of Gus, in case you missed it. IMG_2757.jpg

I can’t believe it’s been a year since your very special boy passed. He is greatly missed here (as are you all) but I’m certain you are correct that the Kitchen Krewe is all happy to be reunited.

Thank you, dear friends, for helping us remember our boy. There are so many happy memories that we share here on the Board. Our kitties are precious--the extra-sweet ones who bring us new challenges every day, and our wonderful GAs, watching over us all.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:s and scritches!

Hi Ella,

Can't believe it has been a year already.

Rusty was such a special kitty and a real trooper reversing the odds so many times. He must have a huge following over that bridge and I told Bronx to seek him out right away, I picture Rusty on top of a large rock sharing his wisdom & welcoming the newcomers.

It's so awesome that he shows his presence in a way only he could do. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hard to believe it’s been a year. Your photo tribute is as beautiful today as it was when you first shared it. I’m glad that Rusty is still giving you signs and that he guided you to Gus who is a truly magnificent fellow.

Hope you all are staying cool.
With lots of :bighug: ❤️ and thanks from Steve,me and Sootie’s Tribe of the here and now and of the Spirit. :bighug:❤️

(((Ella and Edward))) I miss your precious boy so much. It has been a few months since Lucy went to the Bridge and James has pretty much adjusted now and found his own new routines, but I have started looking around a bit for a new little brother or sister for him. I hope you are enjoying life with Gus and that he has settled into all of your routines. Hugs to all of you!

I had the date written in my calendar, and Felix and I have been having conversations about Rusty all week (with a few tears and mews). Rusty has a very special place in our hearts. It was good to watch Rusty's slide show again, and I love to hear about the pinecones. The full moon is tonight, and Felix is eager for the Circle of Remembrance so that he can see Rusty and be shown again what a safe, happy place the Bridge is.

Thanks again, everyone. Since I posted Rusty's memorial I haven't been on the board at all: I have what seems to be Lyme Disease (maybe from a tick bite I got back in April). I tested negative (and titered negative), but the whole Lyme Disease thing is incredibly controversial at the moment. I hope to be back on my feet soon (am taking a course of antibiotics, just in case it is indeed Lyme) and in the meantime I'm thinking of all my FDMB friends.

p.s. Gus is taking good care of me!
