Has anyone done this? Is it recommended? I'm not sure about using different strips with meters or how that works.

Strips can only be used in the meter they were designed for.
CVS strips will likely not work in the Relion Prime.
It is hard to determine since many stores just rebrand meters from a manufacturer.
For example the Relion Confirm and Confirm Micro are just rebranded Glucocard 01 or 01 Mini meters

I've only got two strips left and my little buddy is dropping quite low. Im about 3 minutes from a CVS but quite a way from walmart.
Perhaps there's an inexpensive CVS meter someone can recommend? I ordered an alpha track from my vet but it won't be delivered until later today.

@Crazy Cat Lady - Any cheap meter will work to stay safe when in a situation like yours right now...not something we'd usually recommend but get what you can from CVS with the smallest box of strips and use it for now.
The numbers may not be exactly accurate but you can spot and treat a hypo....I wouldn't use it on a regular basis...
