Relion Prime numbers vs Cat meter

Human meters run lower than pet meters. There is no exact conversion but apparently the difference between the two is greater when in higher numbers.

I have this same question. I understand there isn’t an exact conversion but is there a rough estimate maybe? I don’t need anything definitive but I would like some idea, example: I got a reading of 53 with the relion prime. Is the difference between my relion and a pet meter going to be like 1or2 points or is is closer to 10? 20?

Well, the 'take action' number used on the spreadsheets is 50 for a human meter and 68 for a pet meter. My guess is that someone determined that, at numbers that low, the difference was approximately 18 points. That's probably the best 'rough estimate' you are going to get. :)

Normal numbers on a human meter are 50 to 120 for cats
Normal numbers on an Alphatrak meter are approx 68 to 150 for cats
The machine numbers at the vet always seem to be higher....I assume you are talking about the ones they actually put into a machine, not a small hand held meter.

Relion Prime and the machine numbers they do at the vet?

Hello, I've done a good bit of testing with multiple meters - can you please tell me what you mean by 'machine numbers' at the vet? Are you saying after they draw blood into a vial and then send sample to the lab? Or a hand held device of some sort?

Some vets use a hand held meter like we do. Others send it away and some have machines on site to test the blood.

Every time they have tested my meter and the lab machine numbers against each other it’s always been a consistent 36 points difference. They have tested with same blood sample every time
