Does a time come when you can leave the house without being constantly worried about what's happening with your kitty at home?
Because let me tell you, its been close to a month and I'm not feeling it yet.

Yes...there does come a point when you can leave the house and not worry about your kitty at home...well at least not worry any more than you would normally worry about leaving them. :-D

You get to the pont where the worries change from are they going too low? Are they eating enough? etc to....have they torn up the sofa? Have they destroyed yet another lanp shade? or did they shred the drapes?

Like this Friday I will be going to watch my husband's band perform in a near by town, I know that Musette will be fine while I'm gone, but you can bet I will test her before I leave and I will test her again when I get home.

That day will come!
If you haven't read this yet, it's probably time that you do...

And try to remember. It is scary for everyone at first. But the kitties don't realize they are even "sick". Good thing they can't read over your shoulder!
They just continue to only want love, and of course, food and treats.

For me, it came with plenty of data. I can look at my spreadsheet now and be pretty confident that my cat will be just fine on his current insulin dose. His numbers are consistently well under the renal threshold and well above hypo. Until I knew what his numbers meant and how to read where he was going before he got there, I felt like I could never leave, never sleep. Now, I'm confident because I have plenty of data to tell me he'll be just fine.

Now, this weekend is the first time I'll be entrusting his injections and monitoring to someone else, so I'm a nervous wreck. But I learned how to draw and shoot the correct dose, and my roommate can too. He'll be fine...but I'll worry.

omg, glad you brought this up! lol,

I have 3 and I am a worry wart! If it is not Sugar Bean (in remission), it is 16 yr old (almost) Civvie Slappy or 7mo old Civvie Ittle Sista..

Even with Bean in remission, she was hanging at the bathroom sink acting and wanting water nailbite_smile !!!! Had Louies mom bring over her tester and strip to borrow as mine read her to be 49 without foods... She was 70 after 30 min. or so of eating. ohmygod_smile

I bought a baby scale just so I could weigh EVERY DAY~ lol.... Ok, now it is in the closet and not on the table anymore and we do this about every 6 wks.
So, yes, I would say so, but..... they are my life and I will probably always worry to some point

Hang in there, it will get better with time...One month is not that long after a few have passed. ;-)
