We are going to need a whole lot more information than what you have given before we can safely give you suggestions on how to bring his glucose readings down.
What is Buddy eating at the moment?
How much is he eating and how often?
What is his current dose of insulin?
Do you have any mid-cycle test numbers?
I'm assuming since you are posting on a Lantus ISG that Buddy is on Lantus, but just want to confirm that as well. With Lantus we really need to know how low his current dose is taking him before we can safely suggest ways to bring those numbers down. Lantus is dosed based on the nadir or lowest point in the cycle. Normally the nadir is somewhere around +5 to +7, so it is important that we know where his readings are around those times. The best way to find that lowest point is when you have a free day to run a curve which is done by testing every 2 hours between one shot and the next shot so you can see how low his current dose is taking him.
It would also greatly help us, help you if you could set up a spreadsheet so we can see the numbers you are seeing. But until that is set up you can just post his numbers like this:
amps (morning preshot number)
+1
+2 (number of hours after insulin was given)
+3
pmps (evening preshot number)
