Refusing food

what does every one do when they dont eat not sure if she ate eariler at like 2 or so, but she just wants to go outside bad! and she has been giving me like really high numbers like 300s when shes been low 200s for a while. sometimes this is so flusterating. i cant understand why shes high the last couple of days. i did some resarch and the dry food she was eating is about 25% carbs and i found the tiki cat dry food is 14% carbs. so i thought that would be better she will not eat the young agian. so im at a loss here. i just saw my hollistic vet on saturday and she seemd to think she was doing ok. but i just dont understand...

I have tiki cat pouches she refused that f & f and friskeys... not sure whats going on. I figured but shes a chunky food lover and i cant find any she can eat the pates she will eat for a couple of days then not eat it agian. I dont know why shes so picky.

Sometimes when a cat that prefers chunks gets pate, there's some simple things that might help. Feeding on a plate instead of a bowl sometimes helps, even if they end up pushing some off. Cutting up into chunks and spreading out on a plate might help. You might already be doing these things, but I wanted to mention it just in case.

Maybe MiddieMittens is catching mice or birds when she is outside, and that is why she is not hungry?
Does she ever bring you "trophys" or "presents" of her kills?

Usally yes she does bring them to me but i usally know she ate something she caught because her numbers are so low but they've been so high im wondering if it is in fact the young agian kibbile i got donated to me i know some cats dont do well on it.

It could be the Young Again dry food.
Or the FF naturals in gravy you feed. Those are not low carb.

Some cats do better on slightly higher carbs, and Mittens may be one of them. Have you read this? Feeding Lowest/Zero Carb vs Lower Carb Foods. Discussion from elsewhere on lowest carb vs a bit higher. Vet Dr. Lisa Pierson was part of that discussion.

The Young Again may be causing Mittens some stomach upset. I've heard of cats that have really, clear the house stinky poop when on that food and digestive upset. They also usually eat a lot less on the Young Again.

See no mention on your SS that you are feeding the Young Again. Which one?

Im not sure it was for a diabetic cat that passed on but i have stoped that completely. And put her back on the glucose balance food. She harldy ever eats it but its there incase she wants it.

Hi, I simply wanted to make you aware of this.

All the "Sticky" or pinned posts in the Prozinc forum have been updated and there are a couple of new ones.

Highly recommend that everyone using Prozinc or helping those using Prozinc read them thoroughly.

I'll be doing that myself. Been expecting this for some time. Came about a week before I thought it would.

Hi Kathy,

I know you are one of those incredibly busy people we have on the message board.
But I wanted to check in and see how Middie was feeling. How are the 5 P's (purring, playing, preening, peeing, pooping) and her appetite?

Also, did you get a chance to look at the newly revised Prozinc "Stickies" at the top of the Prozinc ISG? I think the new dosing protocol document is an especially helpful one.
