Hello fellow cat people. This is my first post and it's a question. I've only been giving Jesse insulin for less than two weeks so I'm still really new to the whole thing. Does anyone know how long insulin can be left out, drawn up in a syringe, while waiting for a suspicious cat to relax and come by? For instance is 30 minutes safe?

It's something I never thought to ask my vet.

Oh I never even thought it made a difference what kind!

This is what it says: Glargine (Lantus) Cart. 3ML

We actually don't like to pre-fill syringes any longer than absolutely necessary, especially with Lantus because there's a lubricant inside the syringes that will infiltrate the insulin, but as long as it's only 30 minutes or less, I think you'd be OK

Just put the rest of the cartridge back in the fridge as soon as possible
