Please can someone look over Frankie's numbers today and see whether Frankie is due a reduction or not under SLGS. There was this quote on my other thread:

Also I would not give a second reduction at this point, you've only been on 3.25 for two cycles so what you're seeing today is likely to be depot action from the higher dose. UNLESS we have a lot of trouble getting him back up today.

Do you think I had trouble getting him up or was it just a normal surf? I am due to inject in 30 minutes. So, do I reduce to 3 units or not?

Working hard to bring him up means having to feed honey or hc after several tests to prevent further drops. It looks to me like you only had to give honey once. Is that right? If so it seems to me you have a choice depending on your comfort level. Are you prepared with supplies and do you have the time to stay with him and test a lot should he drop?

See what others say.

Whenever I am unsure what to do, I go back to the document that Eliz pointed to. From that document:

Hold the dose for at least a week
  • Unless your cat won’t eat or you suspect hypoglycemia
  • Unless your kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L) if kitty falls below 90 mg/dL (5 mmol/L) decrease the dose by 0.25 unit immediately.
That would mean Frankie earned a reduction today. The depot may have been influencing the numbers today, but the SLGS (unlike TR) does not have a provision for holding longer if the reductions are close together.

Very nice cycle today. :)

Thanks everyone. I will start him on 3 units tomorrow then. I am shooting through the bounce tonight.

Yes @tiffmaxee I only had to give honey once.
