Going on a trip back to Indiana and we always stop at the Quality Inn in North Platt, NE, which is pet friendly. Our Alley, and 4 civies. Our usual room was taken, they put us down the hall, Alley & Gidget stay in the bedroom area, three civies take up the living room. Woke up this morning to discover a missing cat, our Clarkie. The cabinet door under the sink was open, and a huge hole was in the wall which it turns out leads to all the other rooms by way of the jacuzzi tubs. She is gone. One maintenance man thought he heard her meow, not sure. Cannot get into that wall space. We have animal control here with a hav-a-heart, and they have torn down the wall behind the tub, only to find more holes to more areas. She is the most skiddish of all our cats, it could take days for her to come out, even food won't coax her. Sorry this explanation is long, could just use some prayers. We hope to stay here until she is found.

Thanks for any prayers and positive thoughts.

Oh my gosh ((((Pam)))) Sending prayers that Clarkie is found quickly! Please keep us posted.

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat

I always talk to my pets who have passed on when I need help with one of my animals. I have asked Coleman and Jimmy cat to tell Clarkie to trust the people and find his way out. Hoping for a good result. Keep the faith that the universe will intercede.

I believe Gandalf helped Klinger too, so I will ask him to help Clarkie in what is no doubt a scary maze.

Praying for Clarkie's safe return.

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat

Oh no! Sending prayers and positive thoughts that Clarkie comes out and is ok. ((hugs))
That is crazy there was a hole in the wall! You might think at a pet friendly hotel they would account for the holes. Hopefully, after Clarkie is found they might patch up all those holes.

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat

The good news is my husband spotted her! He dropped a teaspoon of food down and she ran up to eat it, looked at him and took off. No one spotted her since she was missing, so this is a good sign. We have 2 hav-a-hearts now in the wall area and are just waiting to hear one close. Thank you for all your good thoughts, she is in a tunnel approximately 25 foot long by 2 foot wide, full of pipes and wires. Carpenters have cut several holes in the walls to try to find her.

Oh my! That is so scary. I would be frantic too. Maybe tonight, when all is quiet she will come out?

Sending "come back out, Clarkie, thoughts and prayers to NE. Common, girl, there's nothing to be scared of.

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat***She's ou

I knew if I went to this board, my prayers would be answered!!! 11 hours inside the wall, she poked her head out and wandered into the room slowly, my husband leaped for the cabinet and slammed it, not to mention it now has 10 feet of duct tape secured all over it.
Will re-start the trip back to Indiana hopefully without any other problems.

Bless you all, and thanks for the help.

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat***She's ou

Yay, Clarkie!!! Oh what a relief! Safe travels to Indiana without any more excitement. :-D

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat***She's ou

Yea!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad she came out. What a relief.

Hope you have no further escapades on your journey - or at least the cats don't. :-D

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat***She's ou

Wonderful! Have a safe and uneventful trip home. Wave to us as you pass Chicago (yeah, I know you will probably be way south of here  )

Now, Ms Clarkie, I hope you have had enough excitement for a long time!

Re: Really could use some prayers for my lost cat***She's ou

I'm so happy you got Clarkie out of the wall. I know how scary that can be, a few years ago I lost one of my civies like that in a motel in Colby Kansas. Luckily though he was a little piggy and an open can of tuna brought him right out.

Hey if you are taking I-80 back you will pass about 30 minutes from my house.....wave as you go by. :-D Once you see Grandma Max's if you turn south on 281 about 30 minutes down 281 it turns into Burlington which is the main drag through Hastings...yep we have only one main drag...lol. But if you ever want to make a detour on the trip through send me a pm and I'll give you my phone number and maybe we can meet up for lunch or something. :-D Just wish our house was a little bigger so I could offer you a place to stay that is absolutely cat friendly and promises not to let your cats disappear into the walls..afterall if the Fur Gang can't do it, I think it has been proven impossible here...lol.

So relieved for you. I know that panicky feeling very well. I also relish that feeling of overwhelming relief when it all works out! Now for the repair bill.... LOL.
