Hello old friends! I was here in 2005-6-7 with Sammy. Reaching out now to the only people I truly trust for ideas.
My current cat is Bruno, 8 yr old n. male, FIV+ but living his best 100 % indoor life. He has developed symptoms that no local vet can explain. He walks, stumbles, etc like someone with MS. He has that odd gait, drags one leg, but only when he first stands up. After a few steps he walks fairly normal, but still drags 1 foot,. All problems are isolated in his back legs. Front legs work OK. Doesn't seem to be in pain, great appetite, still gets the zoomies at least once a day. Both vets and I have tested BG, range 88-117. Vet gave him a 30 day anti-inflammatory shot, worked at first. 20 days out and he is stumbling again. Vet wants to do another $100.00 shot.
I want to know what the problem is rather than blindly giving another AI shot.
In all the many experiences gathered by you folks, have you ever seen or heard of something like this? Can you give me any ideas to share with the Vet at our appt next week???
TIA for any help you can share! Kathy
