Hello,
My diabetic cat BonnieB has asthma. The she just had x-rays today and her lungs and air passages are clear, no tumors or anything. The vet says steroids are not indicated for diabetics. She can still breathe through her nose and doesn't wheeze all the time so he said try using a vaporizer and watch for signs of distress.
Wonder if anyone has had success in the treatment of asthma in their diabetic cat.

Yes, inhaled medications are more localized rather than pills or meds that are systemic so they usually are fine for diabetics. Before Diego was diagnosed as diabetic he was treated for a cough and they said he could possibly have asthma. No asthma, but I did look into treatment options and thought the little inhaler was adorable.

Thanks for the reply and the information. I'm definitely going to talk to our vet about this. Glad to hear Diego didn't have asthma. One less problem is a good thing! With the clear x-rays I guess BonnieB has mild asthma which is better news.
