9/14 Racci AMPS-90,+3-37,+4-43,+4.75-54+6-62,PMPS-81,+3-78

Happy Caturday!

Racci's BG this morning could be a food number or could be from her new decrease. I guess we'll find out later today. Since she often starts out high from eating, I'm assuming that's what it is. She's shown all 'P's already this morning and appears to be happy and her usual sweet self. Her fur is growing in so thick and fluffy and long from her last haircut this spring, that I don't know what I'll do with it when it's full grown again! Her tummy is so curly and thick and soft that when I brush it it looks like a big cloud and feels unbelievably soft. The rest of her body is also very thick and getting long now. In order to really brush her out I have to go in all directions with the brush! I wind up doing her back, stomach, and 1 side at a time before she is totally out of patience so she is never completely done.

I hope this new dose works for her. I is an easy to duplicate dose so I'll be happy if it works. I'm going to try to do some visiting so ttyl.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154

Morning Melanie - what a nice start for Racci. Racci's coat sounds like Mannie's: very thick, and long in some spots. I wish he liked to be combed, it is such a battle with him. More like a world war. Sounds like Racci got a new dose - I hope it works!

Enjoy your day today. :-D

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!

Hi Michelle,

Is Manny so bad too when it comes to brushing? At least I'm not alone! Racci turns into a different cat when she sees the brush. She changes from this sweet gentle baby that lets me do anything and touch her anywhere to a little wildcat that is ready to tear me up with her claws and bite me. The worst of it is that she has to be brushed at least lightly once a day and a good brushing every few days or she turns into knots because of all the layers of shedding and dandruff. One would think she would be used to it by now. She never used to fight it. GRRR!!!! She grabbed my arm with the brush the other night and got me good. I don't know if she meant to get me or if she was just trying to get the brush from me but she got both! The little brat! She seemed sorry when I yelled at her and put my arm in front of her face to show her what she did.

Yes, Racci had a reduction last night. I have had to do shaves with her on this one because this dose won't hold for her on a full .25u. So I did another few hairlines last night and here she is today diving again after eating several meals, one of them only 1 1/2 hrs ago! I was afraid she would be high after her amps and that food! I'm going crazy with this dose with Racci.

Thanks! I hope you have a great day too!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!

Hi Melanie -

What the Heck's going on over here?? +3/37 A-gain? That's pretty crazy!

I don`t have to brush Reuben out, fortunately... or I`m sure we`d argue about it too!!

Hope things calm down over there today with the crazy numbers, I`ll come back and check on you in a while

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36

Hi Alexa,,

It's nuts, isn't it? I gave her a larger decrease last night and this morning than I had been in the past at this dose also! Maybe she's changed again and will take the 25u this time? I hate to try and fail again. I just tested again but it's too soon. She's still not showing what she ate at the last test. I have to remember that Racci isn't like most cats. She needs longer between tests. Otherwise all the food just hits her at once on her bgs.

Does Reuben have short hair? You're lucky you don't have to brush him out. My Calli had long thick hair too but hers was straight and easier to keep unknotted even though she had a double coat too, because she took such good care of herself.

Thanks for checking on us!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36

Hmmmmm...... Today is 9/15 and Racci's SS has it's last entry on 9/13. I'm sending noodles!

Without the benefit of being able to look at your SS, I suspect the numbers in the 30s are a result of Racci's depot not being caught up with the reduction. I would hesitate to reduce again.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36

Sorry Sienne,
I try to do the ss in the morning and didn't get there yet today. I'll catch it up now but I bet you're right. I'm really leary of reducing again too even with seeing it. I didn't think of the depot. Thank you. That's why you're so good at this. You think of everything! I'll go catch that up now. It won't take long.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36

Hi Melanie,
Gotta say, this caught my eye!
Maybe she's changed again and will take the 25u this time?
I think there's a decimal point missing?
When is the next test?

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56

again! my , my!

and wet noodles.

The lemonade is that it's green and not pink or red. That would be worse.

I'm glad to hear my cat isn't the only one who wants to kill me if try to brush her. I can usually only get a few strokes before I'd better retreat.
I did buy her a very soft human hairbrush and she's not as ugly about that one. But I don't try very often.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56

Hi Melanie -

We`re backing checking on you guys... and loving the SS! Any new numbers to add? Are we at a more reasonable number yet?
Ah, thanks Rhiannon, I wondered about the noodles,

Reuben has medium siamese-y hair that has no tangles, so we got a pass on that detail! He likes being brushed tho', even right now when he feels punk. I think I`ll go do it right now!

So, waiting for the next number.... :-D

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56

Hi Carl,

Racci wasn't changing her BG so I decided to wait at least an hour and a half before testing again and keep trying to feed. It was obvious that she was going up because she wouldn't eat and was playing with me so I was watching her. I caught up her ss and let her take her nap, then tested for her +6 instead. For some reason she has times when her bg hardly changes at all no matter what she ate and it takes a long time for it to show up.

I did leave out that decimal mark didn't I? I'm sure Sienne is right though. I wish I had thought of that. The last time I tried to give a second deduction I really screwed things up! I had to go back 2! Thanks for checking on us Carl.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56

Hi Rhiannon & Alexa!

Hey Rhiannon, actually I think this is worse wet noodles than if it was high. It's more important to look at the ss when they're low. So Shadow's a brush brat too, huh? I understand that sometimes tangles can hurt, but it's not that bad and it's only once in a while especially if they would let us brush! I can't understand why they hate it so much all of a sudden. I tried a human hairbrush too but it won't go through her thick fur. I use it for afterwards to grab loose hairs.

Hi Alexa, Yes I think Racci is probably about in the 60's now. She was at 56 when I last tested her. I want to let her coast now though since she probably won't go down any more. A perfect spot to coast at. + She's at +8.5 now but I won't test until her regular feeding time now about +9-10 depending on whether she wakes up or not. She's tired from me waking her so much to test. Poor old girl. So Reuben has soft silky thin hair. They're easy to brush when there's only one coat to go through. That's why he likes it.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125

Hi again :-)

What was the PMPS? etc? Just dyyyying of curiousity... It's like a mystery novel! I need to know what happens!!

Reuben's have a mellow yellow night. Things sure are different since the dosecrease!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125

Wow. Well, whether you reduce or not, good luck tonight. I'm as curious as Alexa (and Reuben). It is like a mystery novel, isn't it?!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125

Interesting day for the divine Miss R. Hope she continues her surf.

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37again!,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125

Hi Alexa, Dale & Marje!

Sorry I didn't get that PMPS up yet. I fell asleep. Just woke up. Racci flew up in typical new dose wonkiness to 212 :!: A yellow ruining her pretty ss. She did that a few days ago too when I changed her dose. Racci hates dose changes.

I'm not changing it yet. I think Sienne was right and the depot had something to do with her still hitting the 30s today and I think the NDw had part in it too. Now she has a combo of everything pllus the hc all day that caught up to her.

I tried to look at Reuben's condo completely today a few times and got called away for something or other every time! I did look at his ss though and he's still getting lots of greens & blues. I think the pinks and yellows might be from hc? I'd have to go over it with you to find hints. It could just be that he's a cat too. :-D

Thank you all for checking on us. Have to get back to bed and check her again.

Good night!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125,PMPS-212

Whatever the reason, it a lovely green! We have very valid reason to cheer for Racci! Surf Racci!

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125,PMPS-212

I think NDW only applies to increases but Vyktor often went under the reduction mark in the cycle following getting one and sometimes the one after that as well. The shed needs a little time to shrink.

Vyktor is another brush hater, but I get away with quite a lot using the furminator - don't think I would get away with going near his belly though. You are such a good bean to keep on top of all that even at risk to life and limb

Re: 9/15 Racci AMPS-154,+3-37,+4-36,+6-56,+10-125,PMPS-212

Thanks Helen,
We don't want her surfing 200s though. She's long finished with that floor. She needs to come back down to about 65 and then surf for us. ;-)

Hi Serynn!
Good to see you! If there's no NDW with decreases than it must be bounces because Racci reacts as much from decreases as she does from increases. She's very sensitive to change. I hope this dose isn't too low now.

I have to get one of those furminators. My vets techs use them and they love it too. I asked them how they got Racci done so quickly because it takes me forever to get all the tangles on all sides of her! They said it was because of the furminator!
Racci doesn't mind the stomach as much as the back legs. That's taking my life in my hands. Every time I do her back legs she gets nuts because she has knots in them and neuropathy and doesn't want them touched. She actually likes me rubbing her belly and doesn't mind brusshing it any more than any other part a long as I'm gentle. I can't stand looking at those tangles. It seems ot me that they have to hurt so I have to risk my hands and arms to make it better.
