Good Afternoon LL,

I'd like to offer my thoughts and prayers for Roni, Michelle, Tony, Lyresa, and DH, who all lost angels this week. (((hugs to all))) I'm also sending healing vines to Mannie and Michelle today.

Kismet had a rough start this morning. He woke me up with an asthma attack. He sleeps curled up into a little ball against my tummy at night, and I was so disoriented when I woke up, at first I thought the noise was coming from me! I keep his inhaler on the bedside table, to I didn't even have to get up and was able to get him a puff of albuterol. I figured I'd check his bg and was expecting it to be elevated, but it wasn't too bad. It may have spiked a little after the event, but I didn't stay up to check and went back to sleep, and so did he. He seems okay this morning, all 5 ps in order.

I'm off to teach my last class of the week (yay weekend!) and will check in later. Hope everyone has a good day!

Just got home to this beautiful +5 that DH got :D It would be nice if we dip below 50 in the next hour!

Thanks Sarah! We didn't make it below 50, but we got close. We just started insulin a couple of days ago, so it might take a while still for him to regulate. His numbers have been somewhat erratic, but it looks like today we are finally hitting a groove.

Hi Courtney, that's a beautiful slide today for Kisemt, straight into the Green Lagoon! :mrgreen: He's looking good for just having started insulin. Sorry Kismet has asthma, and sounds like you have it under control. Sending some vines for Kismet to have a restful night.

Courtney, THANK YOU for the thoughts, it's still hard but today I can smile at the GOOD memories instead of just seeing the last 6 days as we fought to save my baby.

And wonderful numbers for today. I didn't realize he was so new to insulin. You sure do have a handle on it. :mrgreen:

I'm sorry Kismet has asthma, but happy that you are in control of it.

i Maggie, thanks so much for the vines! Yes, the asthma is a pain and I am fairly certain that it is the cause for his recurrence with diabetes. We've been OTJ and asthma free since October. He was dx with diabetes a week after dx with asthma. When he started wheezing a couple of days ago, his bg shot up at the same time. Hopefully we'll be able to get both under control and move towards OTJ for the second time!

PMPS is at a much nicer number than his AMPS! He was so excited for dinner he almost knocked me over going down the stairs and sang and circled between my legs as I prepared his dins. Silly boy loves fud time more than anything in the world! Hoping we'll surf some more green tonight.

OT: I just realized I have an assignment due by midnight online ohmygod_smile I've been so distracted with everything I totally forgot. I teach college composition and have been consumed with all of the grading... they just turned in a paper and a bunch of assignments. Not to mention the reading load I have... four grad classes = 1500 pages a week on average. Now off to do my classwork! Hope everyone has a good night!

Hi Courtney - thanks for visiting Mannie. It is so appreciated. I am sorry I haven't been able to visit much, time is so elusive for me. Kismet had such a nice day today. lots of greens! Sorry for his asthma attack, I hope all is well here. Surf well tonight little one. (love the curled up sleeping next to you at night - how very cool.)

So glad to see Kismet decided he didn't need .5u! Maybe just the threat worked...as usual.

Loved your story on our condo about Kismet and your housekeeper. Lupita also sings to Gracie in Spanish and makes up alot of cute songs for her....she loves her so much. Whenever Gracie hisses at her, we tell Gracie she is a little chupacabra :lol: and Kismet.....such a gentleman ;-)

Michelle, thanks for stopping by! I understand all too well how elusive time can be! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are really the only days I have time to do anything. Thanks for the well wishes, hopefully we will have an asthma free, green night! And yes, he is my little love bug. He sleeps with us every night! He usually sleeps on top of me, on my chest, or on my back if I am on my stomach, but lately he has taken to curling up against my side or in the crook of my knees. He is the most physically affectionate cat I have ever had. He also has this strange routine at bedtime where he lays on my chest as I read and licks my face, chin, or neck. It's weird, but he has done it ever since he was a kitten.

Hi Marje! Yes, he's a little ham. LOL @ chupacabra!!! I call Kismet that sometimes, haha. I love Gracie's sassiness, her stories always crack me up!

I have a friend who's cat was just diagnosed and am trying to convince him to home test. I decided to make a how to video tonight for him tonight, and figured I'd share it here, too! Excuse my pjs and messy hair... lol. DH Dan is the cinematographer :D

+5-- 74. I gave him another 1/2 tsp of LC @ +4.5. Too sleepy to see if he'd dip below 50. There may be a reducie in our near future, though. Paws crossed.

And with this number, I sleep! ni ni everyone.

Courtney, great video. It look like Kismet was looking for his treat at the end, or does he always help you with the journal. :lol:

I love how Kismet sings for his supper. My civie Theo is a love bug that does face/neck licks in bed too. Love the cat food breath facials.
