WCR Powder had some nice numbers overnight and it shows. He is more animated this morning and all his personal Ps are in place. Posting a recap for yesterday. In the morning I visited too long and ran out of time  before funeral of sweet resident to post. Then when I came back I was too sad and depressed especially to see the sad news about Pelusa just added to my funk. :YMSIGH:  He gave so much love and in return was loved every where he went. He enjoyed life so much that every day was new and different.
I have been dreading this time since the doctor told me in July he had cancer.   Then trying to keep him going, the chemo, worrying he was in pain and he just would say "No Kathy I'm getting better I'm ok" when asked. Until the week before his last hospitalization I insisted to MD he had to be in pain and saw the relief he got. Then that horrible disease had to take away his ability to walk and we would be told he must have been in terrible pain for over a month. Until the very end he would respond to "How are you feeling?" with "I'm alright."
His niece did the eulogy and captured him so well especially the love he had for his cat Saki GA. She described how every day he would go out to pick up sticks out of his yard and when he was done with that he would make his rounds to the neighbors to do the same. Then he would walk around his yard enjoying the day. What was so special about it was that Saki accompanied him every day following the special man who loved him so much. He talked about Saki often as though he had just crossed the bridge yet he had been gone more than 10 years. Unfortunately we couldn't get him a cat in the house which we so wanted to do because one of his housemates was very allergic to cats. We did bring in our dogs but I'm sure it never quite took a cat's place. Sorry for going on and on.
I did do testing however and Powder would choose last night to go  which would normally have thrilled me. Luckily for me, especially that I was feeling so drained, he rose from the 50 with only some Super Supper. I don't know how Marjorie and Michelle stay awake almost every night I could barely stay up long enough for the 30 min recheck. ohmygod_smile Actually thought I went an hour and a half over until I did SS this Am @-) Anyway you ladies have my ever lasting admiration and awe
Finally set up my Smart Box this morning and am hoping Powder will take to it since he has never been a litter freak and shouldn't miss it. It should make my life a little easier and him having clean litter most of the time. He was used to his Litter Maid and always had clean litter. Since FD his urine clumps were too challenging most of the time for it to scoop
Thanks for the high fat hint Ella I looked over the list and found a lot. It seems Powder's preferred food for the moment is pretty high. So I'll try to slip in some of the others of course I'll never know when he'll refuse to eat Super Supper he's so picky. He's going to be very mad today 'cause he's getting a bath  will try to visit later. Was so happy to see Essi OTJ.

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+3~155+4~62+5~62

At +3 I could tell he was serious about getting into the water today and not just his bath  So had to go out and pick up Super Supper when he wouldn't eat much of his breffis. Came back and tested  62 in one hourish. Spooned out the Super Supper which he started munching but only ate about 1/4. He is in charge as always and didn't want him crashing so gave him 4 greens dry crunchies which of course he gobbled right down. +5 still 62 tried to get him to eat wet food by putting on liver dust. Nope turned his nose up and walked away  so he wins but only 2 crunchies this time. I don't want him in the 50's so he will get a dosecrease soon. Would like him surfing the greens a bit though.
I am pleased to report that the Smart Box has been accepted and has been used for both of those Ps. So its been a pretty good day so far. Now to the grooming. I have a sheltie to do too.
Thanks Celi and Lisa for your support it does help :YMHUG: I hope you both have great days.

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+3~155+4~62+5~62

So Sorry for your loss - it's never easy, you can post her anytime you need to.

Good luck with the dose change - I hope it works for Powder. Quite the morning, quite the drop. It looks like you have it under control. ncie greens - now surf Powder, OK?

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+3~155+4~62+5~62+6~72

Yes Claudia it looks like he intends to try the green board today its been awhile.
Hi Michelle thanks a lot for the support it does mean a lot. I didn't give the little prince a dosecrease yet I think he knew I was gonna give him one  He'll have to work harder than this to get one at least I kept him up. ;-)

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+4~62+5~62+6~72+9~309

confused_cat Oh well we had a decent run this am and he was in the healing range for about 6 hours. Well Jill we really have the BIPO going on in The Prince's Palace. Seems to happen every day. Any ideas on what to do to sttrreettcchh it out, the lastingness(this is only a FD term  )that is? I'm not complaining 'cause its been a long time back. I'll take any good numbers any time I can get them :-D

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+4~62+5~62+6~72+9~309

All things considered, Powder is doing pretty well here!! Even out those bounces & you'll have Powder in great shape!
Great green today--Excellent--Food issues=I have to change the flavors of FF, use chicken dust, anything I can to get these 2 to eat! They are driving me crazy with the eating too..
So sorry about your friend..It always hurts to lose someone you like & admire. I used to be a social worker so I know the feeling. Kathy you have a big heart--Sending you Big Hugs today! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 12/5AMPSPowder358+4~62+5~62+6~72+9~309

Kathy...I'm really sorry for your loss...I can only imagine how difficult it is for you.

Michelle stays up more nights than I do ...DH does Sun, M, T, W nights and I do the others and an occasional Sunday when he doesn't get home. But nights are higher for Gracie and so we're usually in bed by 12:30 and if she's sinking, I nap, test, nap, test. Michelle is the real trooper.

Powder and Gracie had pretty similar days today alto Grace had a really nice AMPS...but she rebounded just like he did. SIGH!!! Hope you have a good evening.

Re: 12/5pMPSPowder412+1~382+2~332

I thought I would try front loading(it's all the rage this season ;-) ) to see if I could stop the BIPO. Very slow decline in purples but no fast drop. Hope he stays in this pattern but comes into blues and greens. Have tried this before but it's hard to do in the am when I have to go tbp. I also need to get as many calories in him as possible. So Marjorie's blog about dividing up Gracie's total calories. Powder doesn't always eat all of each mini meal but hopefully he eats enough. He finally gave up holding out for green crunchies he wasn't too happy earlier. cat(2)_steam He sure liked them.

It's +4 now and he still didn't dive yet usually into greens now so I hope that the BIPO won't happen as early and maybe he'll be in a better place come AMPS. This is definitely a dance which I hope Powder's liver and pancreas learn the steps soon. ;-)

Kathy, I'm sorry for your loss. It's never easy, and it sounds like he was a wonderful person. Hang in there. :YMHUG:

if you can front load the cycle, I would do that. It really does help with diving kitties. Do you have an autofeeder? If not, that's a great tool....I love mine! It took a little time to get Tinkles used to it, but he does eat most of the meals out of it on his own now.
