Arggggg.

I'm quite certain that my groggy eyes this morning gave her a furshot. ohmygod_smile There have been a couple of times so far that I've only suspected it -- but this morning I'd bet money that very little, or probably none of the insulin went in.

Does this cause a setback? I suppose I won't see much of a change in her numbers because of her depot?

Re: 12/27 Ripley AMPS 141, question about furshot

Did it smell like bandaids? Any liquid on her fur? Her numbers will prolly pop up some, but then she'll get back into the "zone" when you successfully perform a good dose this evening. It may take a cycle or two to work out. Try not to beat yourself up too much. Fur shots happen. We've all done it and all you can do is wait it out.

Re: 12/27 Ripley AMPS 141, question about furshot

Don't assume that the cycle won't be effected because of the depot. Eventually, it catches up. If there's no effect this cycle, you could see a change in the PM cycle. It won't cause a setback, per se. What does happen is that your cycle count starts over again. See this post from Jill regarding counting cycles.

Morning guys! Sorry about the furshot, hope it doesn't affect Ripley too much, often times we get more in there than we think. Paws crossed! Hope you have a great day!

Thank you for the input!

Yes, band-aids! The scent was so familiar, yet I couldn't quite place it.

That +2 doesn't look like a furshot. It could be there was a drop or two of Lantus on the outside of the syringe and that's what you're smelling.

Re: 12/27 Ripley AMPS 141, furshot, +2 127

I was thinking the same thing, Sienne -- although, there was quite a bit of fluid on her fur near the shot site... I'll continue to keep an eye on her numbers throughout the day, in between errands. Also, she managed to eat at least one dog kibble this morning, so that may tweak her numbers today, too. My pets seem to like to share their food!

I feel pretty lucky with how Ripley has responded to the Lantus since her Nov. diagnosis -- her numbers are in the greens and blues, and pretty predictable (anti-jinx), so any changes due to poss. furshot or dog 'treats' will likely be noticeable and explained

So, looks like she got some insulin after all...

And the sun is coming out! Might be time for her to go bask in the backyard with the turtle!
