Well I switched to my relion confirm last night and even though it is reading higher its not that much of a diff between the fSL I will see what the 3 of them say when I get my alphtrak strips and go from there :roll: :roll: I think my main concern was the FSL saying his numbers are pretty good but he is acting like he needs more insulin aka lots more drinking and peeing I mean one day last week the water bowl was almost empty and Do Lou has not done that since before is Dx really and well in his early FD days so this is my main concern on just the fact that he is not getting enough honestly I expected a bigger diff between the confirm and FSL since usually the confirm is close to my A trak well anyway we shall see but we have 3 P's this morning have to stay up today I have a lil blue girl who has to be taken to the vet for a spay and then DH and I plan to take a hike supposed to be in the 70s today :razz:

Are those yellow numbers enough to have him drinking too much? Weezer has been in yellows forever and has just started to ease off the excessive drinking/peeing cycle.

Have a nice outing in the lovely weather.

Hi Linda yes Hi yellows and of course pinks will make him drink too much, FSL has had him in mostly blue and low yellow which was what started my meter worry to begin :?: with but i do love my FSL and cannot afford to use A trak all the time but I will still wait until I get my A trak strips and proceed from there if Do Lou is in blue he does not drink and pee hardly at all so IDK whats going on he is about due a check up so we may be doing that soon as well

Come on back down, DL. Good catch on the drinking/peeing I hope you get the meters sorted out if for nothing else than your own peace of mind.

hope nothing is going on with Do Lou and he might just need a little more insulin.

+3 327 and got that urine and he did have keytones a wee bit these are new strips not just keytone strips but still he has always been neg before he was just the first color so I am not overly concerned but it shows his numbers have been higher then the FSL has been indicating cat(2)_steam

Morning you guys....it's times like this when I realize how much FD has taught us about our kitties....and how attentive we have become to the subtle and not-so-subtle changes in their behaviors. The 4 Ps that we watch out for each day, right? Good job Lisa! Hope you get stuff sorted out...the meter dance is always expensive but it is good to compare.

Good morning Lisa and Do Lou! Hope you get the meters figured out. I just switched to Arkay (like the Relio) from Bayer Contour and the strips are so much cheaper. I have never tried them side by side for readings.

sigh so frustrating just when you thing the FSl is reading really low pmps 186 on it my DS was home and used it and did his pm shot for me, so I get home about 30 min post shot and use relion and its 215 so not much diff at all so IDK sigh......... A trak strips arrive tomorrow so my meter wars will continue until after then.. but he is fine tonight dinner eaten we took a long all day hike today beautiful day :mrgreen: just got home about 20 min ago

The meter wars are not fun! Hope you get it all straightened out. You know D.L. much better than any meter can! I hope his 5 Ps will return to their normal state now that you have all these comparisons to fret about. Maybe he'll surprise you.
Great that you got out for a hike in beautiful weather.
