Thanks for all your advice, after being brought to the vet yesterday morning in bad shape, they kept him and placed him on an IV and his sugar was 649.
Temp was low, when I spoke to them at 6, he was holding his own. The vet called this morning, he passed last night. I am devastated!
The only thing that really upsets me is that he died alone! :( He just wasnt the same after that last larger dose of insulin.
Anyway, thanks for all you tried to do and what you said. I should have taken him to an ER Vet, but didn't have the thousands to pay when they kept him.
I'm trying very hard not to play the blame game here, and I'm losing.

Oh, Ruth....(((Hugs)))

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Raffy.

I also had a cat that died alone at the vets. He was my absolute soulmate, and the thought that he'd died alone really bothered me. However, when I was able to think more clearly I reminded myself that when cats (or indeed people) are very, very sick, they often go into a sort of quiet place. They seem to turn inwards and 'shut down' to outside stimluli; and it may well be that Raffy would not have been very aware of your presence.

Will be holding you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh dear I'm so sorry to read this. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your dear Raffy. This is so sad. My heart goes out to you.

Fly free sweet kitty, land ever so softly back to the heart that loved you so.

Again I'm so sorry.

Dear Ruth,

So very sorry that your sweet boy, Raffy, went to the bridge last night. If you do believe in your heart about our furbabies going to the Rainbow Bridge, then I believe our cats will once again one day be with us for eternity.

Please try not to blame yourself for Raffy passing. As Elizabeth said, I too think that when an animal really gets to the point of dying, that their body shuts down and they gently go to a place where they may not even know we are there with them or not. But, please keep his memories deep within your heart, and he will always be with you in spirit.

I am so so sorry to hear that and sorry for your loss.. I doubt the last dose of insulin was the cause. likely there was another condition or illness there, and diabetes was a secondary condition to it.. cancer or renal problems or something. But you did your best and tried for him and he knows that.

I'm so sorry to hear this.
Fly Free Raffy!
You were very loved.

So sorry for the loss of your furbaby. May he play at the bridge in joy and health with the others who have passed before.

So sorry it was time for Raffy to cross. Don't blame yourself - you did all you could. Raffy knows you love him and he had a wonderful life! Fly free Raffy wings_cat
