Hey everybody, wondering how y'all feel about the 1 year rabies vaccines compared to the year. Forrest my civvie who does go outside is due and the vet was saying today that the new formula for the 1 year is better from a sarcoma point of view as compared to the 3 year. I recently read something about the 1 vs 3 and thought I read the 3 was better but can't find the article.

Thoughts?

Until 2014, the only nonadjuvanted feline rabies vaccine was Merial's PureVax. The adjuvanted used in feline rabies vaccines has been associated with sarcoma's at the injections site (VAS). In 2014 Merial received approval for ther feline, three-year, nonadjuvanted, rabies vaccine

Therefore, I only use one of the nonadjuvanted feline rabies vaccines. The three-year one is harder on the cat in terms of lethargy and other similar effects than the one0-year PureVax

Thanks for your input Larry. I thought I had read that there was a 3 year non- adjuvanted vaccine but good to know that the 1 year is easier on them.
