TR gives a better chance at remission because you can adjust the dose as often as every 3 days instead of waiting a week. It takes a little more testing though.
At the least, you need to test before every shot and at least 1 mid-cycle test (5-7 hours after the shot) and at least a "before bed" test on the PM cycle. Most cats go lower at night so getting a test on the PM cycle is just as important (if not more so) than testing on the AM cycle.
The more tests you get in, the better you're going to understand how she's responding to insulin. You don't have to test every hour or anything, but if you're home, get tests sprinkled around at different points in the cycle. If you think of your spreadsheet like it's a puzzle, if you have pieces sprinkled all over, it's easier to see what the picture is. If you only have pieces on one side, you don't have any idea what's going on in the other half of the picture (and that could be the important half!)
