Question on Late/Missed Doses

Hi there,
There are a few instances coming up where my husband and I have conflicts where we may not be able to get home in time for her evening shot. I was curious as to what we could do. I would like to ensure she gets something, and I believe a lesser dose is the answer, but should we forgo it all together after x number of hours late?

Will missing a dose mess her up that much? I know that it is not idea, so please be kind with your responses. I've heard a lot of "you need to stick to 12 hours" but with our lives it is difficult and we are doing the best we can, that I can promise you.

Luckily, prozinc/pzi are a little more flexible, so the 12/12 rule can be worked around.
Any specifics? Like how late, etc? We can figure this out....
Any chance of changing the morning shot time too? I don't think that here you're going to get too much "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!". We are a pretty laid back bunch  We'll all help you figure this out.

We'll, that is good to know!

One night is a little unsure--could be an hour or two. We could push her AM shot back a little (30 min or so) to give us a little more wiggle room, but we aren't sure when either of us will be back.

That's very doable. And we can do this one odd day at a time too.

On that day, if you can delay the AM shot by 30 minutes, that would work out fine.
The real "issue" is trying to keep the shots as close as possible to 12 hours apart. But, for instance with me and Bob when he was getting shots.....I work different hours every week. Luckily, I work where I live, on an island where I am never more than 10 minutes from my house. So I can drive by and stop off for 10 minutes to treat. But lots of days, I was "busy" at shot time, and couldn't get home for another hour. It just was what it was. I'd give him the shot as soon as I could once I had "missed" shot time. Other days, I'd have to be working by 5:30am, and shot time was 6ish. So I would have no choice but to shoot early. I'd just hold off till I was on my way out the door. I didn't change the PS routine....still tested, then fed, then shot. If that was an hour late or early, so be it. He still did okay with it.
If it is going to be a couple hours out of whack, then we might need to look at tiny dose adjustments depending on how late or early. But not radical differences. The "good" thing about prozinc is that it usually doesn't last quite 12 hours anyway. Once it's done doing its thing, it's "gone". As long as the shots aren't closer together than say 10 hours, this is a workable thing.
