Question on Lantus 3ml vials

Hello-

I'm new to this board and am still reading up on the stickies and archives but was wondering if I could get a quick answer on the lantus bottles.

I am currently using the 10ml vial but understand that there are 3 ml vials also. I asked my vet for the three ml vials and she informed that the vials often don't have the same stopper that the 10ml vial does and that its designed to work with the pen and so it's harder to dispense.

Is this true? Is it better to stick with the 10 ml vial? Or should I try the 3 ml vials???

Thanks for any help
Mila

Most of us use the 3ml because there is less to throw out when it Expires. I haven't had any problem drawing from them and don't know of anyone who has. The thing is, they're more expensive because you usually have to get packs of 5, you're paying for more packaging, but you also get 15ml.

The 3 ml cartridges are very easy to use. In the long run it is cheaper to buy the cartridges because you get 5 at one time as opposed to one vial. The rubber stopper is smaller but still very easy to get the tiny needle into.
