Question on Food Intake

I've noticed Lucky's appetite go down. Before she'd eat a can of FF in one sitting, and now I'm giving her 1/2 a can because she doesn't eat it all. And she usually eats half that half. Not sure if she is just a grazer or if I should now be spacing out her food to AM and PM? Is this normal? Or how much should she be eating? I've also noticed her poop go from pale to dark again. So not sure if that's normal as the body is adjusting to the new food, or if it's the difference between Friskies to Fancy Feast? Don't want to worry myself over nothing! And sometimes I do that! :?

Normal is about 2 FF cans a day. Some cats require more to maintain weight and some less.

She might be getting about that. I give her 1/2 of 1/2 a can 3 hours before testing. Then after testing the other 1/2 of the 1/2. Then for the whole day I put a whole can out with water on a huge plate so she doesn't push half of it onto the floor. And then when I get home she gets another 1/2 of a 1/2 of a can and then I test her she gets the other 1/2 of the 1/2 LOL So she may be getting roughly two cans. Maybe a little less but she's not terribly active either. But her blood sugar is going down too so that might be some of the decrease in appetite.

Weigh her every few weeks and see what her weight does and then you can adjust accordingly.

I plan on weighing her tomorrow. I weighed her last week I think and she was 13.2. So I'll see if she's lost weight or gained it. Though I did do her sugar reading tonight and she was at 82! That's good!
