When you do the bg tests, do you use the numbers that the meter gives you or do you adjust the numbers somehow to make allowance for the human meter being used?

I am getting good numbers with my meter at home - all my numbers for the past few days have been really good: 10/18 - 98, 10/19 - 87, 10/20 - 77, 10/21 - 67 and today's numbers of 89, 60, and 80. Yesterday when I took Bo to the vet to get a curve, the vet used my meter one time to compare to his reading. His was 226 and mine at the same time was 139. Bo was obviously in a stress mode for it to be 139 on my meter.

So anyway, I was wondering if you use the numbers exactly as they are on your meters when you make decisions to shoot or not OR was there some adjustment in the numbers since it is a human meter. Thanks!

Actually, that question could be asked for any meter. I use the OTU and I go by the numbers I get.......always have......and have never "adjusted" a number.

I have never adjusted even when I go form one meter to another since I sometimes get free strips and I have about every meter out there. regardless whether one meter reads differently than another, I treat the numbers on the meter I use.

I use the Relion Mini for Max and I just go with the numbers that the meter gives me. I also have a OTU and have check both meters against each other and have found the readings well within the margin of error.

Someone asked me if i had "coded" the meter. I put in a test strip and the code matched what is on the test strip container. Is there something else I need to do?

the relion ultima has a code chip you have to put in the meter. the other 2 relions do not need to be coded micro and I forget the other one. begins with a c

you are doing just fine. stick with the numbers whatever meter you use and treat accordingly. you can always post if and when questions arise.
have a good night. I am OTB
