Hi all,

does anyone know the carbs content of the Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse pouches?

Tastes that are sold in my local store are Chicken and Chicken with Egg. I was wondering if I can get any feedback on this new Tiki Cat product. It is not in Dr' Lisa's Food Chart.

Thanks!

Just a guestimate because I use the GA information and it may not work on the Mousse varieties (It doesn't work on freeze dried either o_O). Although it advertises as having No carbs .
Chicken with Egg Mousse - ~15% carbs
Chicken - ~15% carbs

Some other Mousse type foods I found by another company have the highest carb content of 7.7% so I hope someone can verify my incorrect-ness :)
Once again *I could very well be wrong* :D

According to their website, it has 0 carbs and looking at the ingredients I'd say that was correct, or at least close. When we were working on an update to the food list, Tiki Cat was very forthcoming with their nutrition info, so if you call them they can probably give you any info you need.

Hi,

I went ahead and gave the Tiki Cat Velvet Chicken Mousse a try and I thought I should give the feedback for anyone interested.

As any Tiki Cat product it does smell very attractive. The texture reminded me of Gerber Baby food, very smooth – true to its name Velvet.

The caloric composition is not on Dr. Pierson chart but per Tiki site and the member’ opinions it must be zero or in the close range to it. ECID but my cat’s BG after eating confirms the very low carbs estimate.

I will not be buying it any longer thou as Ducia didn’t like the velvety smooth texture.

I thought however that if anyone feeds zero carbs and need smoother foods after dental extraction/procedures or in need to syringe/tube feed Tiki Velvet Mousse might be a solution.

I would certainly give it a try when Ducia had her Tube in – just a little water and you are good to go. I used for Tube feeding Friskie Classic Pates heavily diluted w/ water but Friskie still had the grainy feel to it and I had to run it thru the food processor to smooth down for Tube use. With Velvet Mousse the food processor part would not be necessary.

Thank you for your replies!
