Question about switching to TR

If I switch Jude to TR, must I test him mid-cycle? I'm off work for a couple of weeks, and I can test him mid-cycle now, but when I start back to work, I won't be able to in the AM cycle (I can test mid-cycle in the PM cycle when I'm working). When I go back to work, I can capture a +1 and/or tests post +6/+7 in the AM cycle. Thanks!

We have lots of people who work full time and manage their cat's diabetes. If you can get a +2 or +3 before heading out the door, it can really help. It may mean moving back the AMPS a bit. A +1 doesn't show as much. And get those mid cycle tests on days you are off.

Thanks, Wendy. So with the TR, we are able to adjust the dosage more quickly or in a shorter amount of time because we are doing the extra testing, right? I've mostly been testing Jude at least two times a cycle as it is (PS and one other time), but I'm just not catching him at the mid-cycle or what might be closer to the nadir, at least not in the a.m. cycle. I'm just trying to determine the differences between the two dosing methods.

The main differences are how long you hold a dose, how much you can increase by if all in high numbers, and the point at which a dose reduction is earned. Since kitty will be in lower numbers without changing the dose, there is the added safety mechanism of a second test per cycle, so we can get an idea how low the dose is taking him.
