As most of you know my Gilbert crossed over the rainbow bridge a few days ago & his bubby Pete misses him...so I decide to test Pete's blood sugar yesterday to take his mind off of things...lol. My husband says I am going to be chasing him around the house w/ the glucometer. ;-) His before breakfast # was 45 & 4hrs after was 63. I have tested him periodically over the last 6 months & he is always around these #s, but he was eating basically the same low carb diet as Gilbert w/ a little high carb snuck to him most days. These #s just seem a little low for normal #s. What do you guys think?

He's doing great!

50 - 130 mg/dL (2.8 - 7.2 mmol/L) {80 - 160 mg/dL for an AlphaTrak}
- On insulin - great control when following a tight regulation protocol.
- Off insulin - normal numbers.
(May even go as low as the upper 30s (1.7 mmol/L){60s for an AlphaTrak}; if not on insulin, this can be safe.

Christy,
Those numbers are perfect.
:mrgreen:

Christy,
My 6 civies run between 43 and 80. Leo, the one that runs the highest, gets steriod shots every month right now so I'm hoping he won't end up diabetic AND asthmatic.

BIG HUGE LOOOOONG HUG,
