Hello everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend and that all kitties and beans are having a good Monday!

We are down to a 0.25 unit dose and I'm practicing my 0.10 unit dose to be as consistent as possible. I was looking at some spreadsheets and noticed that some people did a drop dose after the 0.10 unit dose. Should I do the drop dose as well before starting an OTJ trial?

I think it depends on the cat. A kitty that is still seeing a bit of blue might need a bit more insulin support. Noah, however, looks AWESOME! :D I love looking at his SS. You are doing a great job Melanie.

Marvin as looks fantastic!

Guess you'll have to wait and see about the drop dose. George had a similar descent down the dosing scale to your Marvin. I opted to do a drop dose for a week, when it came to it, I was terrified of stopping insulin, didn't want to screw with his BG, he may well not have needed the drop dose as he had spent many weeks in those healing greens and was flat as a pancake. As Wendy says it's more relevant with kitties that are still seeing blues.

One other thing to consider is the size of your 0.1 dose. The last bunch of BD's I used the syringe markings were so bad that her dose was half way between the bottom of the zero line and the end if the syringe, but i figure it was more like 0.25 units. You might want to count the drops in a 0.1 unit dose by twisting the plunger to try to get consistent drops. If it's quite a few drops, then a dose that is less may make sense.

Thank you for the advice. I'll wait and see but I think if he continues with the beautiful green I might just try no insulin after the 0.1 dose. I'm nervous but hey, I won't know until I try it. I just wanted to make sure I didn't skip any step. I'm just so bad at the microdosing so I'm hoping we can stop insulin after 0.1. :nailbiting:
