? Question about long term antibiotics

So the vet called with the results of Elektras out of house urinalysis and C&S. Apparently she looked great except there is some ecoli in her bladder. So the vet is prescribing 3 different antibiotics. She'll take each for 2 weeks for a total of 6 weeks. Apparently these are 3 antibiotics that kill ecoli. My question...any of you ever experienced this? Any advice for such a long course of abx?

Yes, some infections require longer than that standard 14 days.
My civi Stuwart was one one antibiotic for more than 28 days

D-Mannose is a great supplement for UTI issues-
You can give as prevention after it is cleared up..... I have also give in addition to the AB
PLAIN D-Mannose-no additives.
I like the NOW brand personally...it is safe for sugar cats

Hi Rachel,

I use the NOW brand d-mannose supplement, too. According to my research, d-mannose is specifically effective for e. coli problems.

Thanks all!! I got the abx. They gave me Clavamox, Baytril, Cefpodoxime. So I just do 3 rounds...2 weeks of each. I'll try the DMannose as well.
