Question about injections

Our dose is one unit of Lantus. I'm using the 3/10 cc syringes from walmart with the half unit markings.

I feel like there is ALWAYS a tiny bubble in my dose that I can't get out. I flick it, I draw up extra and try to blow it out once I've pulled out of the bottle.

I read that I should not inject back into the lantus bottle because I could contaminate the bottle with the silicone lining the syringe.

Does anyone have some tips? I feel like with such a small dose, that tiny bubble makes a difference!

Bubbles are a major pain - the needles you use are the best for having the least bubbles develop. I've tried 4 different brands and find that the Relion needles always draw fewer and smaller ones. The key is in the 'flick' - don't be dainty about it, hold the barrel tightly and thump it a good one, then express the bubble. I can't ever even get them all out of a Monoject needle...

Good luck!

Hugs,
