oes anyone fed their cat home made food ? my vet suggested that give jack cooked chicken for a treat or add it to his food .He loves the wet food tooooo much!! he gobbles it down and from past experience I know he throws up after gobbling his food .. I have been adding 4 pieces of dry food to the wet to get him to slow down a bit as he has to chew the dry food...It worked this morn ,so far he hasn't thown up. His pre shot Bg was 324 . which is the lowest it has ever been.

Dr. Lisa has a recipe and info about raw on her website: http:www.cat info.org You can add cooked chicken to food or use it as treats. It is not a complete food on its own.

If I were you, I would not feed any dry at all. Any a few crunchies can affect bg levels. If you want to slow down his bolting of food, you can add water and mix it up like gravy. It also helps hydrate

I feed a raw diet. However, it sounds more like you're wanting to not have your kitty scarf-n-barf. What you might think of adding are a few pieces of raw chicken giblets or chicken heart. It's very chewy and will slow things down. Alternatively, you could not feed the entire meal all at once. I feed Gabby over several hours although for a different reason. She gets a meal at shot time, and then at +1, +2, and +3.
