HI Everyone!
We are planning on going away for a weekend and we will have our pet sitter coming in to administer the insulin 2x per day at our scheduled times of 615am and 615pm. My pet sitter has never administered insulin before but is willing to learn so I'm going to have her come over in the next week and I'm going to teach her using a bottle of b12. I know you shouldn't regularly do this but I was wondering for the 2 days that we will be gone if it would be okay to draw up the insulin in the syringes myself and just leave them in the fridge so that I know for sure there won't be any issues filling the syringe? If not, I'm going to put tape in the syringes so she knows where to draw up to. I will be learning myself this weekend how to home test - but I'm not going to have her do anything like that - need to get her comfortable with just administering first before I get her into doing anything else.

I wouldn't fill the syringes in advance. I'd make a sample one for her to use as a guide with colored water.

Sorry all I just found on the forum the answer to my question - I will draw up an example syringe with B12 in it and leave that for her to compare and just have her draw directly from the bottle.

BTW if you have to buy insulin again the box of pens purchased from Canada are cheaper and there's no waste. I'm hoping you won't need more and Aurora will be one that goes into remission so just keep this is the back of your mind.
