Question about fluids??

Houdini needs some due to runny poos for 3 days and all I have is Sodium Chloride - is this OK? How much should I give ? 50 or 100cc's?

If it is the 0.9% NaCl that is fine. Some say it may sting a little compared the lactated ringers solution. How much depends upon the weight of Houdina. If Houdini is over 10 lb 100 ml would be fine unless he has a heart condition.

It says 9% - what is Na Cl??? No heart problems and just 11#'s now

NaCl is the chemical formula for salt. So it is a weak saline solution.

Are you sure it is not 0.9% vice 9%? I never heard of 9% NaCl

NaCl is sodium (Na) Chloride (Cl)

Sorry - yes .9%
