Question about civvie and accident. Knock to head.

Just now I accidentally dropped my phone on Luna's head from about a metre high. She panicked (of course) and turned to run and ran straight into the chair and table legs. Then she ran and hid behind a chair in my room. When I went to see if she was okay, she ran and hid elsewhere, again I followed and she then ran and hid under my bed. When I went back into my room I heard her crying. I knelt down and she stopped. She won't move, she just stared at me wide eyed. I got her favourite treats out and she's not at all interested, didn't even sniff it right in front of her. I gave her a pat and she just leaned away from me.
My other civvie had gone to get the treats while I was out of the room so she has moved. She's now managed to get in my wardrobe to hide.

Should I be concerned? Or just leave her be? She can be skittish at the best of times but I'm worried she might be hurt. Both from my phone AND running into the table head first. What should I look out for?

Poor baby. At the moment she doesn’t know it was an accident and she is probably confused why you ‘hurt’ her
Can you check to see her pupils are equal and central to the eye? If you can shine a torch in her eyes they should react the same. Or take her to the daylight so they will react.
I would be concerned if she vomited or was unsteady. Or acted confused
I think I would ring the vet just to be sure.
please keep us posted

Okay, I dragged her out of the wardrobe to check her vision and it all looks good. Pupils are responding to light. I put her on my lap and starting rubbing her neck and she is now laying calmly and purring. I'm feeling her head and it feels smooth, no lumps.
Poor little pumpkin.
I still think I would run it post the vet just to be sure. It’s not too late in the day for you yet is it?

She has just slithered off my lap after a lovely cuddle and onto the bed (I was sitting on). She's still purring, rolled over for a belly rub. She seems very floppy (she is half ragdoll) but otherwise fine. I 5hink I'll monitor her closely and if there's any changes, I'll rush her to the vet.

Agreed. She didn't eat at all even with food down for three hours. I left earlier to pick up my son from work and when I got back, she had eaten. I think she was coming out of my room to use the litter tray but as soon as she saw me she bolted :arghh: :arghh: :arghh: She is still purring when I can reach her to give her pats but otherwise she cries and hides. I feel so bad!

Oh, Laura. This is so sad. I'm glad you think she's okay, but poor Luna is just so scared. You'll have to work on building that trust back and that takes time. I know you know all the kind things to do. I'm sorry this happened. Let us know how she does.

Thanks for the update Laura! I’ve been thinking about you and that’s whey I PMed. I see Gremlin has been having problems with his mouth/teeth. When my kitty, Tabitha, had kidney disease and tooth problems we put her one a monthly regimen of clindamycin for one week out of each month. It really helped keep the teeth in check since anesthesia was not an option. I see you’ve started Bupe. I hope it helps. Does he still get the low dose metacam for kidneys? Hugs to you all!
