Phoenix had pancreatititis in March and was given cerenia for vomiting. It worked great. Here is my question:
This last Tuesday, I got up to give Phoenix his midnight snack. He was fine when he woke but but within minutes he vomited a medium amount of dark brown fluid. I got worried because Phoenix doesn't vomit very often. I was worried that his pancreatititis may be starting back up. So, I gave him a cerenia and went ahead and gave him his midnight snack. He ate it and was fine.
The next morning, he was very active.
He was playing with his toys and walked around the yard at least 5 times. I have been very worried about him since he had the pancreatititis and became diabetic because he has been very lethargic. He usually goes outside and will walk a little bit and then lay down.
Could the cerenia have caused this dramatic change? He acted like he feels great. I read that the cerenia can be used for G. I. inflammation as well as nausea. Could Phoenix possibly have a little inflammation going in his intestines that caused him to be lethargic or is that caused by the diabetes? Does anyone keep their cat on cerenia maybe once or twice a week? I am just curious. I will mention it to his vet but he is hard to get hold off and I just thought I would see your responses before I asked him. Thank you !
