Today:

AMPS 102, 1.50u, 46g Evo 95% C&T, Cosequin
+1 - 39g Evo 95% C&T, Cosequin, 1 psyllium capsule (had to force feed her a bit, and then she ate a small amount on her own for now)
+1.5 73, force fed her a small amount of food, then she ate a bit on her own.
+3.5 63, force fed her a small amount of food, and she ate quite a bit on her own.

WCR: I haven't seen her poop in at least a couple of days. I'll be adding 1 capsule of psyllium to her +1 meal. There was poop in the black box in the office, but not sure if it's hers or someone else's. She normally doesn't cover hers up. I know that her daughter, Tiny, does, as well as Groucho, and Aurora. I've also started adding 4 more drops to her meals this morning, too. She probably needs more water to help this along.

Is there anything more that I can do for her, like force feed her more water to help, also...?

I know that when I was in the hospital, they had me drink a lot of water so that I could go as I was taking a lot of medication at the time. I know that may be too much information, however, that's what they did.

Sending tons of healing vines, positive thoughts, and prayers to whoever needs them.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone, including Blackie, to have great #s... For everyone, including Blackie, to be OTJ.

Re: 09/04 Blackie AMPS 102

This is the first time that she's ever refused her +1 meal. I've added a capsule of psyllium to it, along with the Cosequin. She hasn't touched it. I've added 4 extra drops of water, making the total amount of drops to 12 to make it a bit more runny. If she doesn't touch it, I may have to force feed her, which I don't want to do.

We can't afford to take her to the vet. I found out yesterday that it's going to cost us $650 to $675 to replace the oil gasket on the truck. Financially, we're tapped out.

Nice start for Blackie. Hoping the psyllium does the trick. Pooping problems are never good. ((((Angela))))

Re: 09/04 Blackie AMPS 102

Just force fed her a small amount of watered down food/psyllium/cosequin mixture, and then she ate a bit on her own. I'll let her graze on that throughout the day. I'm sure that her #s are going to spike, but at this time, I don't care. She needs to be more regular than she has been.

Re: Question; 09/04 Blackie AMPS 102 +1.5 73

Just force fed her a bit more, and then she ate a bit on her own after I heard what I think was a burp. I also heard gut sounds, possibly intestinal sounds, which I'm hoping is a good sign. I really hope that she'll get regulated very soon.

My first post disappeared. Check out felineconstipation.org for more than you ever need to know on the subject. Pat who put it together is a very smart lady.

She ate again after being force fed, however, she ate a lot more on her own. I think she'd rather eat on her own than have the embarrassment of being forced to eat. I'm still hearing intestinal sounds, which I think are a good sign.

Thank you for the post, Tiff.

I do give Max 1/8 teaspoon of miralax daily and lots of water in his canned food. Other things that work are a t of canned pumpkin and baby food squash. I'm glad Blackie is eating. If the syringe doesn't work sometimes finger feeding works better.

Sorry, Elise, for the misnaming of you.

I read on the link that you provided (thank you for that, btw) that pumpkin and baby food squash are good sources for fiber. I've given Blackie a psyllium capsule, which was broke open and sprinkled into her food. Over the course of about 2.5 hours, she did eat most of the food. I've also added a lot of water to it to make it runny so that I could syringe feed her. I did try the finger food feeding, but that didn't go over very well. Right now, she's napping behind the couch behind the spot where I normally sit. I'll just have to add more water to her meals to help this along, and will pick up some fresh psyllium capsules tomorrow. I know moving around (ie. walking) helps, too, and she does that a lot as it is. Since I've been adding water to her meals, I've hardly ever seen her go to the water bowls anymore.
