I do as you can see from Tiggys SS. My Tiggy is borderline acro and I have been doing this long enough I am comfortable keeping him in these numbers. And I keep him really low.
However some people who have high dose cats also have acromegaly or cushings and in those cases i believe it can be dangerous to do that as the cats pancreas is still working and can kick in and cause havoc - drive them too low, or keep them too low even when feeding HC.
Perhaps ask the question on the Facebook acro board?
But anyway with Cobbsmum I think there is wiggle room. We aren't even seeing greens and I think he is getting HC wet right now which might be the issue - not a high dose condition..
