PZI Sticky getting lost in the forest?

Hey guys, is is just me or is the PZI Sticky getting lost in the forest of "Announcements" in the PZI forum that really are not specific to the PZI forum?

If so a couple solutions to this:

1) Ask mods that the "Announcements" that have nothing to do with PZI be removed from the PZI forum

2) Ask mods that the PZI sticky be re-named "PZI STICKY:..."

3) Convert the PZI sticky into a real PZI "Topics" sticky much like the remissions sticky.

4) Combo of above?

5) Other ideas?

6) Leave well enough alone, you are a nut and lay off the coffee dude!

Input anyone? - newbies please add your $0.02 too!

In the past we [PZI Land] used to run a pretty lean and mean shop. In all due respect to the "Announcements" in the PZI forum, I feel they are ALL important but really have nothing to do with PZI and some of us [like me] rarely check the other forums. But the Announcements usually stay up long enough for me to catch them in another forum.

We're still without PZI mod right?

yep gator...you are right! they can All be taken down. and we don't have our own mod but we are such a passive crowd maybe we don't even need one....yet. we never see a problem break out in here :mrgreen:
you ask a mod to do it...i'm too much in the spotlight at the moment and don't want to bother any one of the bosses. :lol:
 
there's a pzi sticky?

there's so many stickies on the forums now they're overwhelming so i don't even bother looking at them anymore. LOL!!
 
Thanks for the PM Gator. I have changed the title on the PZI sticky so one can better locate it. (I couldn't find it either.)

Alot of what you are seeing has to do with the way the system works here. In each forum, announcements are set off from topics. Stickys can be in the announcement section or the topic section.

Some announcements are global, and are posted once across all forums. Four of the announcements here are global---> items 1-3 and the final item. Items 1-3 concern topics of current interest and will likely go away in time. (And likely be replaced by other items of current and global interest.)

The test kits posting is not a global announcement, and if you folks don't want that here, I can make it go away.

One thing you might want to consider is having me (or another moderator) move the PZI sticky (which is not a global announcement) out of the announcements section and into the topics section. Because of its date, it would appear under Terri's sticky on remissions. (BTW, Terri's post is locked and I'm not sure why because it does ask people to post remissions. Should I unlock that?)

So let me know what you would like done with the test kit announcement (remove or leave there) and the PZI Sticky (leave in announcements or move to topics as a sticky).

I will subscribe to this topic so that I can check back on your positions.
 
well unless anyone objects (and then we can have a group conscience on it) i think newbie kits is a good reminder for every one that it is here and can be either utilized or funded.

Locked?!! :shock: Locked = no one can post to that topic? Hmm, I won't even start with the conspiracy theories on that one :lol: [I'm kidding/joking]. I do not know why it was locked nor what the thinking on that would be. I say yes, please unlock it - that's obviously important. We don't seem to have a problem with folks posting to the Sticky so it should be fine if anyone can post to it. Unlocking it will still keep it at the top of the topics correct? Thank you for taking notice.

If Lori feels that she wants the Test Kit to be an announcement then I'm OK with that. Especially since we cannot get rid of the global announcements, one more [or a million more! :-D ] doesn't really matter. But can we negotiate that the word "STICKY" not be part of the Newby kits announcement? It's just that I know at least for myself when I was around more, I'd constantly be like, "read the PZI Sticky at the top of the PZI forum." I think the "PZI Sticky" would stick [pun intended] out more - certainly in the PZI announcements it the Test Kits did not contain the word "sticky." Just my $0.02 - what do you think Lori?

i'm laughing gator becuase i have no idea what your talking about but i read the word stickie so many times i cracked up...let me go take a look.
 
eeeewwwhh, yes i see. the word 'STICKIE' is most unappealing...looks like SICKY.
i don't see any reason we need the word stickie for anything..what the hell is that anyway?

Turns out I mis-saw it, unless someone else unlocked it before i looked a second time. It is now unlocked.

I removed STICKY from the test kits announcement.

No change made until I read more voices. I will continue to watch.

The main forum for the ISGs starts with the subforums, moves to announcements, and then has a place for topics (which we call the hallway when someone inappropriately posts there). The announcements are not at the bottom on that page, it is just that there are no topics. Look at Community and you will see the same thing, a subforum for Reunion, then announcements, then topics.

We can't change the ordering of the subsections forum as you request. To do so would put the announcements on page 24 of the PZI subform, after all the topics. On Lantus, the announcements would end up on page 213.

I don't know where the pzi sticky was, but I frequently refer to information in it and am SO glad its prominent and easy to spot now.

Both the "typical curve information" and the "conversion chart" are two pieces that jump to my mind as critical information to getting success with Prozinc.

I vote for moving the PZI sticky to the topics...that's how it is in the Lantus forum, and I think it would stand out more there. I agree with Gator that at least it would indicate that it is PZI specific. While it is a bit better with the title PZI Sticky, it still gets lost among the general announcements...which I generally ignore once I have read any new ones! :lol:
 
Thank you. Actually, please don't lock it. At least wile it was in announcements, we did not seem to have a problem with people posting into it [if we do we'll handle that later]. This allows us to add to it as necessary.

thanks gator you are sooooo smart thinking of this. we are still actually learning so much about the subtle and not so subtle differences between pzi and pro zinc that it is good to have access.
