Hello! Does anyone know if this purina veterinary supplement is high carb? Vet said once per day but he also recommended Hill K/D dry and wet and I am not using that. Thanks!

I don't have data on the Hydra Care but I don't see anything in the very limited ingredients that would be high carb. I never could get my cat to lick any of this. He rejected it. You might try watering it down. It is very thick and sludgy. Do you have labs on your kitty? I am wondering if it's time to start sub-q fluids since the vet is recommending Hydra Care. What are you feeding?

In case your kittie is sensitive to additives and gums, beware that this has guar gum in it. My vet prescribed it and I had to buy a whole box of it. I gave one pouch to Howie and he laid there immobile and refusing to eat/get insulin for a few hours. Scared the daylights out of me. Luckily he finally snapped out if it. Upon further checking, I saw the guar gum buried in the ingredients. Some cats are sensitive and some aren’t. Howie’s one of the “special” ones. Makes food choices challenging!

I updated her spreadsheet. She just got a CKD diagnosis when she was in for the UTI so I am wondering if her numbers are worse b/c of the UTI. Her Creatinine is 2.7, BUN 49. I have the hydration bag and am doing subQ 100ml everyother day. So far just 50 ml, daily cuz she won't sit still..

She loves them and has had them three days in a row so far and no issues.
