Well we're concern pumpkin's #'s are up :cry: He seemed to be getting better then two days of so-so.Alas,I am becomming to believe a connection to his BM and higher #'s he been around ev. 3 days a BM. BUT HEY!! Its only been since 12-4 switch over to can food with added chicken or turkey,12-6 a dreaded car ride,4 hours in the drs.office,12-8 starting insulin.So that is a lot for a 14yr old kitty to adjust to. OH Yeah let's not forget the needles and ear pricks(which his human mom needs to improve her skills.) Thank God for CATNIP!!! I almost wish catnip work on humans as it does cats HAhahaha

on the BM thing...pat (raja and shadow) calls them "magical poops"...and it makes a difference in binks numbers, for sure

Hi Celi and Binks, I was doing the treat thing than realize his attitude toward food is so different now. He would attack his food plate!!! Now at evening meal I have to wait for him to get in the mood sometimes 1/2 hour after I put fresh "grub" as pumpkin calls food. Then it dawn on me his catnip WHEW!!! I was wondering do kitties that nibble on and off throughout the day keep their BG#'s up?? That is what he started doing.

Have you been able to figure out how to get a spreadsheet set up? It will be very helpful for your keeping track of Pumpkin's numbers and for us to provide input.
What you're seeing is a sizable drop between your PMPS and +3. I would get more tests in this cycle. There is considerable momentum behind that drop and it's still early in the cycle. If you want to slow things down, give Pumpkin some low carb food -- just a teaspoon or two.
Do not be surprised if you see high numbers tomorrow. Given the speed and size of the drop, it's likely that you will see numbers bounce up.

He seems ok he's walking around, he is even playing with his "sock" he hissy when I come to pick him up for an ear prick. He ate about half his dinner and has been over at the plate only once since dinner at 6 pm. The only thing I can think of is I did cut back the food from 6 ounces to 4 ounces at each meal.

Just tested him his # is 63 I've been working on the can food list that the link goes to. The only stores I can get to is shop rite or price chopper. Walmart is not a place I have reliable transportation to. So I'm limited to what those two stores have and I've been advise that they don't carry the same varieties every month.

i'd get another test in , about an hour. If he had been eating shortly before the last test you may be seeing food influence. We like to see 2 rising or surfing number that had no food recently.
You would be amazed at the lengths some of us go to get the tests. Tess has taken to hanging out in her cube, I've gotten pretty good at reaching through the openings and testing her right there. :razz:

So I guess the 5 dry food kibbles and the munching on his leftover dinner brought his number up. I find myself wonder geez how he must feeling with his levels changing so. He did settle into his blanket to look at the back window. So he is still awake but not frisky. Perhaps the 61 was his nadir?

Morning Joy! What a great job you did last night. I too would expect Pumpkin's numbers to be higher today - don't be alarmed if he does, it's all part of the process.
