Hello,

My boy Vinny was OTJ for over a year and then Pancreatitis set in. So, back on insulin and hoping to have another reverse. Prior, he was on PZI IDEXX and he did very well on that. Since he is back on insulin, and PZI IDEXX is no longer available, my vet has us on Prozinc. My vet is extremely supportive of home testing. My question is that since he has been on Prozinc the dosages have not seemed to created the same success the same dosages I used with PZI did. Is there another chart that we can use for Prozinc - - have you experience the need for higher dosages with Prozinc than you had with PZI?

Thanks!

Leslie

FDMB does NOT condone 1:1 "help" for a couple of reasons: (1) this is an advice board, not a veterinary medicine board (2) FDMB was set up as a peer review board of advice. We are not practicing veterinarians and are here to offer opinions, hopefully based on science, not anecdotal evidence. (3) Calling something a "phone consult" is treading dangerously close to practicing vet medicine without a license. NO ONE, NO ONE is to publicly offer to do phone consults or 1 on 1 counseling on this board. Doing so will resort in a warning from me and may lead to removal from the board.

I am sure that assistance in the form of public replies on this thread would be of benefit to many others who may want info on the switch from one to the other insulin.

I had been led to believe that off-board advising is not to be done.
No one person has all info needed, and the input of many may be of greater benefit as opposed to some 1:1.

Please kindly share with all the info that is being offered to only one person.
