I have been using an automatic feeder since Feb 21st about 2 weeks now. I am able to give Chia several small meals and make sure he has food available when I am at work. He eats well. Before the feeder, he was bouncing a lot and I was having to skip shots a lot. Now he is more consistent with his BG, but I am still seeing a lot of pinks and reds. He is currently at 1.75 U,and it is looking like I will need to increase his dose to 2.0 U. Any thoughts and opinions on his BG and dosing? No ketones present. Chia is on Prozinc.

I'm not a dosing expert, but it's been a while since you've seen a blue. I would increase to 2 units, leave it there for 3 to 6 12-hour cycles, and see where Chia is then. The feeder is great, he needs regular meals. Now that he's eating well, it's time to adjust the dose. I know he was doing better on a lower dose for a while, but that's how it is sometimes. Pancreases can heal for a bit, and then decide they need more help for a while.

I will change him to 2.0 U tomorrow morning since I am off from work tomorrow and can monitor him. Thank you for confirming. Yes, I like that he hasn't gone into black anymore and isn't bouncing and I can give him his insulin every 12 hours now, but I need to get him in the blues for his nadirs.

Thank you! I increased his dose in the morning, but unfortunately, that shot ended up being a fur shot. Chia moved on me and I felt a lot of the insulin come out. Doh! I gave him 2 units in the p.m., but his BG is currently higher right now as a result of this morning's fur shot. Gonna ride it out now!
