I'm looking for some advice about daily ProZinc amounts. I started at 1u 2x/day per vet prescription. After a few days Misha had high AM numbers but low PM numbers, so I dropped to .5u 2x/day based on excellent help and advice from this forum. Now we're at high AM numbers and low PM numbers again. I am only giving insulin in the mornings, because Misha's PMPS numbers are well below 200. Wondering if I need to go to .25u morning and evening? This will be hard to eyeball as I'm using U40 syringes.
Advice appreciated. Although, I'm happy to be only having to shoot once a day!

Ideally you need to find a dose that allows you to shoot twice a day. Your high morning PS's are because of the no PM shot.

I agree with your .25 Unit dose Am & PM.

For easier measuring at small doses you can buy U100 syringes with 1/2 unit markings and use a conversion chart.

Sorry I'm on my phone or I would link the info.

I agree, try dropping down to .25u if possible. The numbers you are seeing mid-cycle are terrific, but they also indicate that even as small a dose as .5u is a little bit too much. If you can drop down to .25u, and continue to try to get a test in the middle of the cycle, I have a feeling that Misha might not need that prozinc for too much longer. The fact that you are still getting 400s after 24 hours indicates that Misha needs "some" insulin, but it looks to me like it's very little.

The math is 0.4 x value on U-100 syringe = U-40 dose. This is because the U-40 insulin has 40 units per mL (AKA cc) vs the 100 units per mL that Lantus or Levemir have.

1.0 unit mark = 0.4 units ProZinc
0.5 unit mark = 0.2 units ProZinc

Etc
