Prop has not been projectile vomiting for the last 24 hours. Had a little liquid vomit during the night and a lot of liplicking, but besides that fine, eating, sleeping.
The vet took a blodtest, sure that her kidneys were the problem.but it showed stable number that havent gotten any worse the last two years. No fever, he felt her stomach and it felt fine. Since she is pretty good besides of the vomiting and licking her lips from time to time her want to go slow and start out with something for acid in her stomach. Dont knowwhat you call it. The plan is to take it for the next 10 days and see if she stops the vomiting.
If that dosent help or she get worse,we will try something else.
Dont know if i like the plan, since i want answers now, but its a good plan moneywise, since i dont have to spend money on tests before we have eliminated other thing. Just hope she wont get sicker in the meantime.

Her numbers are up and down. Around 173 at amps, andthen 191 at +4 before the bet visit. Normally she would have had a nice drop by then. So i belive something is going on with her, and not sure that stomachacid could giver her the projectile vomiting, the naseauting feeling, and the rise in blodsugar.

Any thougths?

Charlotte - so glad that Prop's kidney numbers are good. That's a relief! I don't know enough about medical treatment to comment on the vet's plan, only to say I hope it works! 24 hours without vomiting has to be a good thing.

I love those pics you posted. In the last one, it really does look like Prop is making a wish! :-D Such a beautiful girl!

Any illness, upset, cat fight, fur ball, etc can cause a cat's BG to rise, significantly. My vet told me that Sammy's pain was driving hers up, and not to panic and think that we have to resume insulin.... if we can get the pain down, the sugar should come down on its own.

So if Props has a tummy ache from too much acid (heartburn, essentially), then the sugars would spike. Makes sense to me.

Charlotte,

If it is not Props kidneys its most likely pancreatitis, it can be a mild case or a very bad case. If the vomiting does not stop soon you must take action, please read what Rhiannon put in her post which is a Primer on Pancreatitis.

Thanks everybody.

Been reading up on pancreatitis, it just dosent seem right. Shes not lethartic and she loves her food. Hoping it is just the acid, but affraid of what else might come up.
Im going to greece in 2 weeks and prop will get shots by my mom. So she better stop the vomiting now so my mom wont be affraid she will be sick while im gone.

hope that Prop feels better soon. sometimes they just don't feel well and need time to recover. hope it clears on it's own.
paws crossed.

Hopefully it's just a random bug she caught and she'll be fine again after this. Keeping my fingers crossed for that!
