Her numbers have actually gotten even bettet the last few days. Normally she was around 180-200 at ps, but the last few days she has only been around 150-160. So every day is the smallest dose of 0,04 u. Normally when I give 0,04 U, she would be a little higher at next preshot. But for now she is pretty much holding it most of the time or even getting a bit lower numbers at next ps.

A question about older kitties eating habits. Prop get her food four times a day, every 6 hours. Her 6 am/pm meals i serve and her 12 am/pm meals the feeder gives her. She dosent eat as much anymore, so I have cut the meal sizes a bit, since she left it. It also seems like she forget to eat when im not home, think she i sleeping and maybe forget. When I get home in the afternoon at 4, she wakes up and is really hungry. Then i let her eat, since her numbers are so good anyway. But then she is not really hungry at shottime. But does it really matter when her dose is so small? Her nadir with the 0.04 U is around 100, so never even close to getting to low, wich is fine by me.

Todays picture is of Props sister Berta :) Now at 15 years old she is still chasing her tail. It is so funny to watch her just running in circles until she get the tail :)

Will she eat again for you later in the evening? If so I don't think it really matters with Levemir or Lantus as long as there is some food on board to work against the insulin. I know when Autumn was running a 16/16 schedule I would shot on those days when her shot was due at 3 pm after she ate at 11 am without feeding her at the shot time. I think the having them eat right at shot time was more for the older and harsher insulins.

Yes she always eats later, maybe 2-3 hours after her shot. Never testet her low anyway.

Well i guess i just continue doing what we do, seems like it works :)

Seconded, Nadine!

Delighted to read how well Prop's doing, Charlotte.

Just a thought about the not eating unless prompted. Saoirse's not far behind Prop in age and, over and above her pancreatitis/nausea issues, I've found that sometimes I need to prompt her to eat. Once she gets going, she eats OK. From observing her, I don't think she can smell the food quite so well these days. If I warm it a little in the microwave she seems to get the scent better and starts eating. Maybe if you were to sprinkle something like parmesan or blitzed-up freeze-dried tuna treats on the meals that you're not around for? Or maybe mix some tuna-flavoured water in with the meal? Maybe the stronger scent might prompt Prop to eat?

Well since she love the other cats food wich is still low carb but not to good for the kidneys, I put just a kittle bit on top of her regular food this morning, and she ate it :) but in the weekends she is always eating more since im home and shes more awake. So let see after tomorrow :)
