So I'm happy to report we are making progress with testing!

We got AMPS this morning and then I'm testing every 4 hours. While I've had a little hiccup or two (needed to stick second time not enough blood) I've not had to abandon test and have had successful tests.

We are in the 300's. However, when we started yesterday we were in 400's so I'll take it.

He knows the click of the Lancet pen means he gets a treat already too LOL. He hears the click and is immediately looking for his chicken!

Having a kitty whose ears are white makes me sad to see his ears. I feel like I'm torturing the poor guy though.

Feel a little more in control now like I can do this and definitely like that I now know what hos numbers actually are.

I know I need to get some overnights but not sure I can get passed the 4 hour mark yet as I'm pretty sleep deprived since this all started.

Thanks to all of you for all the advice. Keep it coming it helps to know I have you all!
 
Hi Rainbow, I hope that's your name :cat: Good job with the testing, it will get better and better. He's a fast learner knowing he's bgoing to get his treat, so cute
I'm glad you're feeling more in control of things
Hopefully you can get a night test in , if not you are only seeing half the picture on how he's doing

Yes that's my real name LOL (promise to God my mom told me).

I know I can get a +4 tonight so at least 4 hours post shot but the +8 might be too hard yet till i can get a better sleep pattern. I have lupus so i need to manage myself too or I could have issues.

I think you can safely increase to 1.25 but you are you a pen it sounds like. Do you have syringes with half unit markings? While 300 is an improvement you want to get under renal threshold and you aren't there yet.

I would not think about a late test unless you see a big good drop at +2 and another at +4. If the +2 is not lower than the pumps you likely won't need more tests tonight.

I have the pen but using the syringes with half markings.

I will go ahead and test at +2 and again at +4 tonight then....his PMPS was high just now 448. I feel this may be wrong as one he was stressed cause it took two tries and he has had almost enough of me for today...and two I think in my fumbling holding him to get blood on strip I touched strip hands clean but still. Since his numbers have been going down all day I feel this wasnt correct. A little frustrating and heart breaking but pushing forward
 
One more favor
One other thing on your SS you can write what you fed in the remarks section
Don't put the time , example put @+4 or +5 if you ever need help because he might drop too low the members will ask you when did you feed him, we are all in different time zones
I'm talking about this that you wrote on 10-31
food - 1 carb purina chicken 2:30pm
